TMI Tuesday October 24, 2017

This week, let’s have a look inside your relationship by playing TMI Tuesday.

1. How much time do you spend taking care of your significant other:
a. More than taking care of myself, more than 60% of my time.
b. About 50% of my time.
c. 10% to 49% … I have kids!
d. Not really any time at all, definitely less than 10% of my time.

It varies very much depending on need, and I suppose it depends on how we define taking care of another. Is the time I’m earning money count? I’m the family’s sole source of income at the moment, so I’m not working just for myself it would seem. We have a nice division of labor, so I’d think the best answer would be 50%, but that’s not perfectly accurate either…

2. How do you sleep at night?
a. With the whole bed to my myself…yaay!
b. I stay on my own side, someone else on other side.
c. We snuggle–start that way or end up that way.
d. We do not sleep together.

c – snuggles – But, it hasn’t always been that way. My second wife preferred to sleep separately because chronic pain issues tended to make me a restless poor sleeper.

3. What happens when you or your significant other gets home from work?
a. Stop what you are doing to greet and hug each other
b. Engage in conversation about the day
c. No specific acknowledgment of each other, no specific welcoming gesture but go about a household routine
d. Ignore each other

I don’t really fit the mold here either. Because of my diabetic neuropathy, I really don’t drive much. This has forced Sinnjara into the role of my personal assistant and driver. Because we work together our normal routine is to engage in conversation throughout the day, and continue that once we are home. Once home, the conversation turns to blog matters instead of work, but I certainly don’t have to fill her in on work activities…

4. How many things about yourself would you change? Share 3 things and tell us why.

  1. I’d like to be better organized – I’ve always been a bit of the ‘absent-minded professor’ and with more organization I’d also get increased productivity.
  2. I’d love to be 50 pounds lighter. I’m down 35 pounds from my heaviest already, another 50 would improve my health.  And, I’d look better too.
  3. Wave a magic wand to make depression go away – not just for myself…

Bonus: How many things would you change about a current significant other.

I’m not sold on the concept of changing someone else. While M/s and D/s are often known for ‘training’ – that’s not so much about changing. Instead, it’s more about shaping, and that’s actually a totally different mindset. I do wish I had that magic wand for depression I mentioned in my previous answer…

    I don’t drive, either. cos i’m scared to. I always think i’m gonna crash at the next corner. I need a depression wand. at this point i’ll settle for some Pixy Stix.
